Typically, Passion Project Research is undertaken in a school setting. It is a reflective process that allows for inquiry. Often, Passion Project Research is done in collaboration with a group of colleagues to look for solutions to everyday, real problems that are experienced in the school/district. Passion Project Research allows practitioners to address those concerns that are closest to them and ones that they can have influence in changing.
The process of Passion Project Research helps practitioners assess needs, document steps in inquiry, analyze data and make informed decisions that can impact desired changes.
The attached document and infographic will serve as a guide to walk you through the Passion Project Research Process. Most projects go through several cycles as the examiners reflect and modify the project. This type of research is not about digging deep in the literature. It is called "passion" because you are "doing" a project based on your interest and desires by posing questions, gathering data, reflecting and deciding the right course of action to solve the challenge you have identified. It is a challenge because you are not identifying something that is wrong, but rather a search for knowledge about to improve.
